[News/Info] Naver Music, Musician's Choice with Nicole

Nicole says she got interested in jazz dance in middle/high school. She would have continued dancing even if she hadn't come to Korea. Dancing allows her to express herself freely, another identity.

Nicole's Music Choices:

Nicole's First Album Choice: Ciara by Ciara
Song: Overdose

She listens to this song while driving and naturally she dances along. She wants to show a performance with this song on broadcast. The bass is intense but the melody is simple with Ciara's husky voice. The feeling is good, sexy. When she was preparing her solo album, she went and looked up many solo artist's music in all styles. She likes the style of Overdose. She thought "I like this", "I want to try it this one day", when she heard the song.

Nicole's Second Album Choice: Unorthodox Jukebox by Bruno Mars
Song: Treasure

In 2012, she went to New York without any plans. She went shopping and went to a musical. She heard 'Treasure' by Bruno Mars on the streets of New York. The lyrics are good, she likes "You are my treasure" part. It is a good song for a couple to dance too. The song gives a bright, energetic, sexy, street dance feel. The song's choreography will be energetic with a good atmosphere. 'Treasure' gives the listeners good energy.

Nicole's Third Album Choice: My Everything by Ariana Grande
Song: Love Me Harder ft. The Weeknd

Ariana Grande is a great vocalist, 'Love Me Harder' is a sexy song, the male singer has a give and take with the song. There's good harmony with Ariana and The Weeknd. The song is filled with emotion. It seems you need a lot of power to sing this song which can be tough to execute. Not long ago Ariana Grande performed 'Love Me Harder' on the Victoria's Secret Fashion show, the performance was colorful and cool.

Nicole's Fourth Album Choice: Outgrow by BoA
Song: Do The Motion

She used to sing 'Do The Motion' by BoA in the US before coming to Korea. Back then she liked the Latin-style of 'Do The Motion". Movies like Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights left an impression. 'Do The Motion' gave a good 'live' feeling. Because it was a Japanese song, she didn't know the meaning of the lyrics but the expressions were good. Once KARA debuted in Japan, she went back and looked at the lyrics, what she thought of the song was still the same. She's also wanted to learn Latin dance but still hasn't tried it. Woman Latin dancers seem confident and independent.

Nicole's Fifth Album Choice: My Own Lane by Kid Ink
Song: Show Me ft. Chris Brown

She first heard the song in New York where she went to learn dance. She was at her unnie's house and heard a friend of her unnie's mention this song was good, it was 'Show Me'. This song makes her have a desire to drink. Whenever she hears this song, she is reminded of the memory of hearing the song for the first time in New York. She hopes if you are listening to this song, you are holding a bottle of beer (only if you are legal :)), the atmosphere takes over.
